IdISBa launches a scientific outreach campaign in Palma to promote evidence-based health decisions

The Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa) is launching a scientific outreach campaign in Palma aimed at raising public awareness about the importance of evidence-based research and critical thinking in health.

The initiative is developed in collaboration with Cochrane Iberoamérica, through the Cochrane Illes Balears group, and involves researchers from the EVISAP group, the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), and SATSE-CIDEFIB Illes Balears.

This campaign adapts a similar initiative carried out in Barcelona in 2025 and runs from June 1 to June 15, featuring posters displayed in 32 bus shelters across Palma, located in high-traffic areas.

The materials present health-related questions designed to encourage reflection and promote consultation of reliable scientific information. Each poster includes a QR code linking to content based on Cochrane systematic reviews and dissemination projects such as Cochrane Responde and Nutrimedia.

In addition to its presence in public spaces, the campaign is reinforced through the distribution of materials in health centres, hospitals, and universities, extending its reach within both the healthcare and academic sectors.

Through this initiative, IdISBa strengthens its commitment to evidence-based medicine, knowledge transfer, and scientific outreach, contributing to a more informed and critical society.
