3. PUBLIC PROCUREMENT

Public procurement

The IdISBa is subject to current legislation on matters of public procurement as a public foundation forming part of the public sector of the Balearic Islands Health Department and its status as an adjudicating power.

The aim of the regulation on matters of public procurement consists of ensuring compliance with the principles of freedom of access to tenders, openness, transparency in procedures, non-discrimination and equal treatment among candidates, ensuring the efficient use of public funds by selecting the most economically advantageous offer for the IdISBa.

Sector Procurements Act, and contracts subject to non-harmonised regulation are regulated through the IdISBa Internal Procurement Instructions. In turn, the IdISBa provides the Instructions for external services that have been procured to be implemented as required. In observance of the principle of openness that necessarily governs public procurement procedures, our institute has the IdISBa Contracting Party Profile and access to the Autonomous Region of the Balearic Islands Procurement Platform where calls for tender can be released online, the winning bid can be announced, and any relevant documentation relating to the contracts undertaken can be made available.

The IdISBa Contracting Party Profile can be accessed here:
