Debate, innovation and young talent at the III phD(ay) Conference at IdISBa

Last Friday, May 22, the Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa) held the III phD(ay) Conference, aimed at predoctoral researchers, students enrolled in doctoral programmes, and individuals interested in starting a PhD in Health Sciences.

One of the highlights of the event was the 3 Minutes Thesis Competition, in which researchers from their second year of doctoral studies onwards could participate. The winners were Andrés Bedoya, from the BIOCANCER group, and Andrea Morán, from the GMEIN group. The competition consisted of presenting the thesis project in a concise format, with a three-minute time limit, followed by a Q&A and feedback session. Both winners received a €250 training grant.

Throughout the conference, researchers shared projects, experiences, and new ideas in a space designed for discussion, learning, and networking. This initiative represents an opportunity to highlight the importance of science, innovation, and the key role of early-career researchers in improving health.
