IdISBa drives Eureka!Day to strengthen the detection and development of innovative opportunities in health research

The Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa) will hold the Eureka!Day on April 16, an event designed to identify, analyse, and prioritise innovative opportunities in health research projects, with the aim of boosting their transfer to the healthcare system and the productive sector.
The event will take place in the Auditorium of Son Espases University Hospital, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and will feature the participation of experts in valorisation and innovation, as well as professionals from the biomedical field with experience in generating real impact through research.
A programme focused on driving transferable innovation
The day will begin with an institutional welcome, followed by the presentation of the initiative by GÉNESIS Biomed, who will introduce the scouting methodology and the evaluation criteria for projects with transfer potential.
Next, Carlos Enrique Herrero, IdISBa’s Managing Director, will deliver a training session on valorisation, addressing the assessment of transferable projects, the different stages of the valorisation process, and the available transfer pathways.
The programme will continue with a presentation of success stories and best practices in valorisation and transfer of health research projects — also by GÉNESIS Biomed — offering key learnings applicable to the Balearic Islands context.
Afterwards, there will be a debate and Q&A session, conceived as an open space for researchers to address questions and share concerns related to the transfer process.
Finally, a round table featuring examples of innovation and the creation of spin-offs will close the event, highlighting real experiences in transforming ideas into solutions that generate social and economic value.
