Training in Animal Experimentation

Continuous Training (Maintenance of Accreditation):

IdISBa-UIB Training Course in Animal Experimentation (initial certification) – LAST EDITION: DECEMBER 2024

We are opening registration for the IdISBa training activity in collaboration with the UIB and recognized by the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment: "Training Course in Animal Experimentation", in accordance with Ministerial Order ECC/566/2015.

OBJECTIVE

To provide training in animal experimentation for research or teaching staff, based on the requirements of Ministerial Order ECC/566/2015, with the aim of obtaining the legally required certification for the following functions:

  • Animal care
  • Animal euthanasia
  • Performance of procedures
  • Design of projects and procedures

TARGET AUDIENCE: The course is aimed at research and technical staff who use experimental animals.

DATES: From June 20 to December 2024.
FORMAT: Online, including both theoretical and practical sessions.
REGISTRATION: From May 14 to May 28, 2024. Limited places available.

DISCOUNT
Predoctoral students from IdISBa may benefit from a 50% discount on the registration fee if they meet the following requirements:

  • Enrolled in a doctoral programme (2023-2024).
  • Affiliated with an IdISBa research group prior to 01/05/2024.

Application for Maintenance of Accreditation

  • Certificates/diplomas from courses received or delivered that are not in one of the two official languages (Catalan or Spanish) must be submitted together with a translation into either of these languages.
    Persons with access to UIB Digital may request translation from the UIB Language Service through the "corrección de documentos institucionales" option.
    Researchers from IdISBa may request translation from the IdISBa Language Service.
  • The application for maintenance of accreditation must be submitted to the competent authority of the Autonomous Community (AC) that granted the initial accreditation, in cases where initial accreditation was obtained after the publication of the Ministerial Training Order (OM), i.e., after 2 April 2015.
    Applicable to persons initially accredited as Functions (A, B, C, D, E and F).
  • For persons accredited prior to the entry into force of the OM, the following applies:
    • Anyone who obtained recognition through experience issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food under the repealed Royal Decree 1201/2005 of 10 October may submit the application to the competent authority corresponding to their workplace or residence.
      Applicable to persons originally recognised under Category (A, B, C, D1 and D2).
    • Anyone who obtained accreditation through a course approved by the competent authority under Royal Decree 1201/2005 of 10 October, and who was accredited under the first transitional provision of the OM, may submit the application either to the authority that accredited the course or to the authority of their workplace or residence.
      Applicable to persons originally recognised under Category (A, B, C, D1 and D2).
