Curso Excel Intermedio para personal de Gestión

The Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa) is organizing the course "Intermediate Excel for Management Staff", a training programme designed to improve skills in the use of Excel and enhance the productivity and data analysis capabilities of the institute's management staff.

The course will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams on 27 October, 3 November, and 10 November, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a total duration of six hours spread across three sessions. The training will be led by Jaime Manera Pedraza (OPN) and is aimed at IdISBa management staff.

Throughout the three sessions, participants will work on a practical case study inspired by real-life research project management scenarios. The aim is to learn how to organize databases, automate tasks using formulas, and analyse information through pivot tables and charts. No advanced Excel knowledge is required, as the course is delivered at an intermediate level.

Programme

The first session, scheduled for 27 October, will focus on data organization and management. Topics will include table formatting, sorting and filtering data, worksheet and workbook management, data validation, and conditional formatting.

The second session, on 3 November, will focus on formulas and calculation automation, covering absolute and relative references, mathematical and logical functions, the use of VLOOKUP, and the creation of smart codes.

Finally, the third session, scheduled for 10 November, will address data analysis and visualization through pivot tables, charts, data segmentation, and basic statistical concepts applied to data analysis.

Each session will combine a brief theoretical introduction with practical demonstrations, individual exercises, and opportunities for discussion and questions, with the aim of facilitating the immediate application of the knowledge acquired in the daily work of management staff.
