Impetus Program

This call aims to bring researchers closer to the field of competitive research by granting grants for the development of health research projects exclusively to postdoctoral researchers who have not yet obtained a competitive national or international public research project as the principal investigator. The Impetus projects will serve as a stepping stone to participate in future remarkable calls, providing competitiveness and continuity in their research activity.

  • Experimental or theoretical studies that are carried out to gain new knowledge may also be part of these projects.
  • Likewise, there is also room for research actions aimed to acquiring new knowledge and skills, which may be useful to develop new products, processes or services or may allow the existing ones to be considerably improved.
  • In this way, the projects will cover activities within the concepts of basic, translational, clinical and epidemiological research.
