IdISBa and the Spanish Association Against Cancer in the Balearic Islands Sign a Framework Agreement to Promote Prevention, Research and Support for People with Cancer
The collaboration will enable joint awareness-raising initiatives, the promotion of healthy lifestyles and the dissemination of oncology research projects
The Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa) and the Spanish Association Against Cancer in the Balearic Islands have signed a framework cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two organizations in the fight against cancer.
The agreement, signed today at IdISBa headquarters by its manager, Carlos Enrique, and the president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in the Balearic Islands, José Reyes, establishes a joint framework for action to promote cancer prevention and awareness initiatives, encourage healthy lifestyle habits and bring the Association's resources and services closer to citizens. It also includes cooperation in the organization of educational and training activities such as workshops, conferences and meetings aimed at both professionals and the general public.
One of the most significant aspects of the agreement is the commitment of both organizations to collaborate in the promotion, participation and dissemination of research studies and projects developed by IdISBa, helping to increase the visibility of biomedical research carried out in the Balearic Islands and bringing its advances closer to patients and society.
The Spanish Association Against Cancer maintains a strong commitment to prevention, research, public outreach and support for people with cancer and their families. Convinced that science is key to advancing prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease, the Association supports research talent and the development of projects within the region, helping oncology research to progress in the Balearic Islands and ensuring that its results translate into improvements in patient care and quality of life. Collaboration with IdISBa reinforces its commitment to joining forces with the islands' scientific institutions and promoting research that is closely aligned with people's needs.
For its part, IdISBa works to promote biomedical research and innovation in healthcare in order to improve quality of life and advance towards increasingly precise and effective medicine. In addition, the institute aims to foster more participatory research models by encouraging the involvement of patients and citizens in the development of scientific projects and in defining research priorities, with the goal of generating knowledge that responds to society's real needs.
Through this alliance, IdISBa and the Spanish Association Against Cancer in the Balearic Islands strengthen their shared commitment to cancer prevention, support for those affected by the disease and the promotion of research as a fundamental tool for advancing knowledge and improving the management of cancer.
