New Appointment: Silvia Chiera Strengthens the Research Activity of the TERCIT Group
The Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa) has renewed the appointment of researcher Silvia Chiera through a new contract effective from 8 July 2026.
Chiera, a PhD holder and postdoctoral researcher in professional group A, carries out her research activities within the TERCIT (Cell Therapy and Tissue Engineering) research group under the supervision of researcher Manuel Gómez Florit.
Her appointment is part of the EVLOP project, "Understanding Extracellular Vesicle-Extracellular Matrix Interactions through Biomimetic Hydrogels to Enhance Tissue Regeneration" (CNS2024/154997), an initiative aimed at advancing knowledge of the mechanisms that regulate tissue regeneration and developing new therapeutic strategies in regenerative medicine.
Within the framework of this project, the researcher's responsibilities include:
- Participation in the chemical modification and physicochemical characterization of natural polymers.
- Production and characterization of biomimetic hydrogels.
- Cell culture experiments and isolation of extracellular vesicles.
- Processing and analysis of experimental results.
- Preparation of scientific reports and publications.
- Dissemination of research findings.
- Support with general laboratory maintenance tasks.
The researcher carries out her work at the Neurobiology Laboratory of the Research Unit of Son Espases University Hospital, contributing to strengthening the group's research capacity and to achieving the scientific objectives of the EVLOP project.
IdISBa continues to promote the attraction and consolidation of international research talent, strengthening its research teams and fostering the development of innovative projects that contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the improvement of public health.
