New staff member at IdISBa: Maria Escobar Salom joins the Antibiotic Resistance and Bacterial Infection Pathogenesis research group

IdISBa welcomes Maria Escobar Salom, who joins the Institute as a Researcher (Professional Group A) within the framework of project CNS2024-154597 (internal reference 2026-18-NAHUSE).

This full-time contract will run at Son Espases University Hospital (HUSE), under the supervision of Tomeu Moyà Canyelles.

Maria Escobar Salom holds a Degree in Biochemistry and a Master's Degree in Advanced Microbiology, providing her with specialised expertise in the study of microbiological mechanisms involved in bacterial infections and antibiotic resistance.

Her appointment strengthens the Antibiotic Resistance and Bacterial Infection Pathogenesis research group, a strategic area for public health given the growing global impact of infections caused by antimicrobial-resistant microorganisms.

Through this appointment, IdISBa continues its commitment to attracting research talent and strengthening its excellence research groups.
