Four IdISBa researchers featured in the prestigious Research.com ranking of top scientists in Medicine
Four researchers from the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Illes Balears (IdISBa) have been included in the 2026 edition of the Best Medicine Scientists in Spain ranking, compiled by the international academic platform Research.com, one of the benchmark indicators of scientific impact in the biomedical field.
This ranking recognizes researchers with an outstanding track record in Medicine based on the D-index, a metric that evaluates the impact of publications and citations within a given discipline. Only scientists with a D-index of 70 or higher are included, placing those selected among a limited group of high-impact researchers.
In this edition, the ranking includes a total of 289 researchers in Spain, among whom are the following IdISBa researchers:

This recognition highlights the excellence of IdISBa research groups in key areas such as infectious diseases, nutrition, cardiovascular health, respiratory research, and nutrigenomics, as well as their impact on generating high-quality scientific knowledge at an international level.
The Research.com ranking is primarily based on bibliometric data from sources such as OpenAlex and CrossRef, complemented by other databases to ensure a comprehensive and rigorous evaluation. In total, more than 188,000 scientific profiles have been analyzed, of which only a small selection meets the inclusion criteria in the field of Medicine.
