Workshop on Unmet Needs in Treatment-Resistant Major Depression

IdISBa collaborates in the organization of the Workshop on Unmet Needs in Treatment-Resistant Major Depression, a meeting aimed at discussing the main clinical and healthcare challenges associated with this condition and exploring potential strategies to improve its management.

The workshop will bring together professionals from psychiatry, psychology and mental health research from different healthcare and academic institutions across the Balearic Islands. Throughout the morning, participants will address topics such as the definition and scope of treatment-resistant major depression, its clinical and functional burden on patients, the limitations of current therapeutic approaches, and future priorities for achieving a more integrated and patient-centred model of care.

The programme includes the sessions"Treatment-Resistant Major Depression: Definition, Scope and Criteria","Clinical and Functional Burden: The Impact We Do Not See in Clinical Practice","Limitations of Current Therapeutic Strategies" and"Towards an Integrated Approach: Priorities and Next Steps", delivered by specialists in mental health and biomedical research.

The workshop aims to foster knowledge exchange and multidisciplinary discussion around one of the most significant unmet needs in mental health, encouraging reflection on future challenges and opportunities to improve care for people living with treatment-resistant major depression.
